Who We Are

Innovators. Researchers. World-class scientists and engineers.

The smart people driving the discoveries and innovations that will be critical to realizing new capabilities for the Army of 2030 and beyond.

We are AvMC – the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center. The Army's focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation platforms and missile systems across the life cycle.

The AvMC team – approximately 12,000-strong – has remained at the forefront of Army technology. Our focus is on four key priorities:

  • PEOPLE: focus on taking care of our current workforce, as well as recruiting and developing the talent needed to build the Army of the future.

  • TRANSFORMATION & READINESS: continue to pursue S&T investments that provide the cutting-edge technologies needed for decision dominance and overmatch in the multi-domain Army of the future.

  • COLLABORATION: continue to provide world class functional and sustainment engineering expertise to our PEOs, MDA, RCCTO, AMCOM and other critical partners to ensure the Army maintains its warfighting advantage now and, in the future, as well as seek new partnerships to drive the innovation needed for the Army’s readiness, modernization and transformation efforts.

Headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, our reach extends from coast to coast, with locations at Moffett Field, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Corpus Christi, Texas; Honolulu, Hawaii and Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
