Student Internship Programs

As a Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL), AvMC has direct-hire authorities to streamline and accelerate the hiring process for students hired in the Scientific, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Student Employment Program (SSEP) and the Professional, Administrative, Assistant, Clerical, and Technician Student Employment Program (PAACTSEP). This allows AvMC to compete successfully with private industry for high-quality STEM, professional, administrative, assistant, clerical, and technician positions.

As one of the leading laboratories in the DoD, AvMC was chosen to be one of the DoD S&T Reinvention Laboratory Personnel Demonstration participants. Better known as LabDemo, it provides a variety of benefits and opportunities not available to most federal employees, including better pay and faster pay raises. The LabDemo is a significant change in how DoD reimburses its people.
