When it comes to Army aviation being “Above the Best,” a lot of that is thanks in part to our Systems Readiness Directorate.

From future vertical lift programs of record, efforts to adopt a modular open systems approach, to future tactical unmanned aircraft systems - just to name a few - our SRD workforce delivers the solutions and expertise our Soldiers need for aviation and missile systems throughout the life cycle, from cradle to grave.

Our aviation subject matter experts don’t just talk the talk - they walk it, for the Warfighter. Case in point? SRD deploys liaison engineers directly with units in the field to address repairs and maintenance engineering calls - on demand and in a moment’s notice - to keep aircraft and our aviators flying.

And we don’t just work in the here and now. Looking to the Army of 2030 and beyond, our SRD workforce is active in numerous priority research areas such as additive manufacturing, autonomy and artificial intelligence.
